Ok, here's some simple math.
The proposed 'stimulus' bill is $900,000,000,000.
Of that, less than $300,000,000,000 would potentially go into effect this year (yet it's an EMERGENCY!)
There are approximately 300,000,000 people in the US legally.
Now, this is where the math gets tricky... and I mean really tricky...
900,000,000,000 divided by 300,000,000 is 3,000.
That means that this 'stimulus' bill is worth $3000 for every legal US resident (approximately).
Practical application:
I have nine people in my family. 3,000 times 9 is 27,000. Somebody somewhere is receiving 27,000 on behalf of my family in order to help stimulate the economy and help me out.
Fortunately the democrats understand the economy better than I. We just moved b/c we could no longer afford our mortgage payment for our old house... and my first instinct would be to think that people struggling with mortgages and rent should get a little help, and people who create business and jobs should also get some. But our 'leadership' knows that the smartest thing to do to help people with their financial trouble and their job loss is to increase 'sex education', the National Endowment for the Arts ($300,000,000), and 'Universal Health Care Preparedness', among many other similar innocuous sounding terms.
Thank God for people with some economic sense!
